The Clark County says a former UNLV participant establish dead at the Las Vegas city jail died of ecological causes.
Frank “Spoon” James was initiate dead in his cell Wednesday morning after a another night in the city detention center. Police say the 45-year-old James was consciousness held on traffic warrant after a routine traffic stop.
The coroner says James died of mind ailments.
James played for Jerry Tarkanian’s Runnin’ Rebels in 1983-85 and was drafted by the Detroit Pistons in the seventh round in 1985. He did not make the team.
His brothers, Keith James and Karl “Boobie” James, also played for the Rebels.
